Study Trip: Europe’s Forgotten Countries: the Long Road of Transition to Democracy in Albania
From 27th to 30th of April, 2018 alumni of “Europa gestalten - Politische Bildung in Aktion” are organising a study trip called "Europe’s Forgotten Countries: the Long Road of Transition to Democracy in Albania". During the trip, participants will not only discuss historical and current social issues, but will also meet local multipliers and institutions that can potentially become partners for future projects. The trip contributes to bringing Albania to the attention and interest of other European countries to promote future-oriented cooperation projects. In addition, the trip is an opportunity to explore the question why 'the periphery' of Europe can teach us much about the leading and dominant 'centre'.

Cultural Port
Ukrainian MitOst Members and Alumni of Theodor-Heuss-Kolleg will come together in Ivano-Frankivsk in June 2018 to contribute to one of the bigger Ukrainian multimedia festival called “Porto Franko”. THK alumni in Ukraine who are active in the NGO “Insha Osvita” are currently developing the organisation’s cultural department. For us, culture as well as civic education are tools we are using in our work to promote community development. We are working on gaining more theoretical and practical skills in the field of cultural and art initiatives. Therefore, “Porto Franko”, a festival offering a unique cultural programme to its visitors, will be a  training opportunity for our team. Six Alumni from Ivano-Frankivsk, as well as Alumni from Chernivtsi, Kharkiv and Kyiv will attend the festival to offer educational sessions and support the whole event as part of festival organisers team.

Growing the Good. Alumni Un-Conference
We all don’t have time but we want to make the world a better place. How can we contribute to that in our everyday lives, aside from buying organic groceries? How can we share great ideas? Is letting good practices and actions emerge and sharing them a suitable form of contribution in an ever-changing, fast-paced world?
The Un-Conference “Growing the Good” is kicking off the Lectureship Program’s anniversary. It is an event by alumni for alumni in cooperation with the Lectureship Program and MitOst.
