New MitOst Managing Director

After several months of searching and two selection rounds MitOst has a new managing director: 1 September 2016, Mario Tibussek starts work at our headquarters in Berlin. “I’m very much looking forward to getting to know the partners, colleagues and members of MitOst personally, and to help shaping the development of this fast growing organisation,” the future team member said.

With Mario Tibussek MitOst gains an experienced change agent with many years of managerial experience. As director of programmes at the German Children and Youth Foundation (DKJS) he has established national and international cooperations with foundations and ministries, and has set up, among other initiatives, the “Competence Center for Educational Landscapes 2020”, and “Alliances for Equal Chances.” Methodically, he brings in know-how in local cross-sectoral collaborations – especially in the fields of education and urban planning – as well as in organisation development, which has been one of his key tasks at sprachenatelier berlin. A graduate of Latinamerican Studies and Geology, he is a much-travelled man who wishes to shape society through his professional commitment. He  describes his style of working and managing as “dialogic”. A warm welcome to the MitOst cosmos, Mario; we are looking forward to be working together!

MitOst is now, at the dawn of its 20th anniversary, recognized as an international actor, and can count on a well-established network of civil, public and private partners in Europe and the neighbouring regions. This is an achievement we owe to a great extent to the former managing director, Darius Polok, who sets out for a new professional challenge. As a co-founder of MitOst and as programme manager, he has lived through all Ups and Downs of the organisation, whose dealings he has managed very successfully for the past six years. In the name of the whole MitOst board, all of your colleagues and companions: Thank you!
