Study Tour "Variety in Citizenship Education"

Berlin, April 13-16, 2011

Citizenship education is of particular importance in democratic societies. It is connected in many ways with the building of Europe, and often perceived as a driving force in the process of European integration.

The Robert Bosch Stiftung and the German Federal Agency for Civic Education are inviting senior experts of citizenship education institutions and organizations in Central and Southeastern Europe (Bulgaria, Estonia, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republik and Hungary) to a study tour to Berlin: Become acquainted with the variety of citizenship education in Germany by visiting several relevant institutions. And use the opportunity to exchange experiences with relevant stakeholders and for discussing challenges and perspectives of citizenship education in Europe.

During the program, you will meet with current and former participants and with host institutions in the program “Civic Education in Action”. This joint program of the Robert Bosch Stiftung and the Federal Agency for Civic Education is offering young professionals from Central and Southeastern Europe internships at German educational institutions and an insight-view in the European network of citizenship education.
